National Park Weerribben Wieden is with 10.000 hectare the largest peat bog in northwest Europe. The varied landscape has many special animals and plants. The park was formed during the ice age and was shaped by human hands through peat and reed cultivation.
The traces of this are still visible. Beautiful villages and towns alternate the vast reed lands, swamp forests, lakes and ditches. In our tour we would like to show this and tell you about the diverse history.
